Homeopathic doctors in India are medical practitioners who practice homeopathy, a system of medicine based on the principle of "like cures like". To become a homeopathic doctor in India, one needs to fulfill certain eligibility criteria and obtain a degree in Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS).

The eligibility criteria for admission to BHMS course in India are:

1. Age: The candidate must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission.

2. Education: The candidate must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects.

3. Qualifying exam: The candidate must appear and qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to BHMS course in India.

The BHMS course is a 5.5 year undergraduate degree program that includes both theoretical and practical training in various aspects of homeopathy, including anatomy, physiology, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, materia medica, organon of medicine, repertory, and more. The last year of the BHMS course is dedicated to a one-year internship, during which the students get hands-on training in clinical practice under the supervision of experienced doctors.

After completing BHMS, one can opt for further specialization in a particular field of homeopathy through postgraduate courses such as MD (Hom) or PhD in Homeopathy. These courses typically take 3-5 years to complete and provide advanced knowledge and training in a specific area of homeopathy.

Homeopathic doctors in India are regulated by the Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH), which is a statutory body responsible for the overall regulation of education and practice of homeopathy in the country. The CCH sets standards for homeopathic education, conducts exams, and issues licenses to practice homeopathy in India.
