The eligibility criteria for admission to BNYS course in India are:
1. Age: The candidate must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission.
2. Education: The candidate must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects.
3. Qualifying exam: The candidate must appear and qualify in the entrance exam conducted by the respective institution offering the course.
The BNYS course is a 5.5 year undergraduate degree program that includes both theoretical and practical training in various aspects of naturopathy and yoga, including anatomy, physiology, pathology, dietetics, hydrotherapy, acupuncture, yoga therapy, and more. The last year of the BNYS course is dedicated to a one-year internship, during which the students get hands-on training in clinical practice under the supervision of experienced doctors.
After completing BNYS or DNYS, one can practice as a naturopathic doctor or yoga therapist in private clinics or wellness centers. However, it is important to note that these courses are not recognized by the government of India and do not offer the same legal recognition and privileges as the degrees in allopathic, ayurvedic, or homeopathic medicine.
